"Great in 2008 - by Faith"

“By Faith – it’s going to be great in 2008”

Here is the Significance and Revelation of the number Eight:

Eight is the number of New Beginnings

The number Seven in the year 2007 was the number of Completion and Spiritual Perfection, therefore, everything God did in 2007 was well done, but that season is finished, and now we have stepped into 2008 – “a new beginning,” and His promise is, “It’s going to be great.”

Eight is the number of Resurrection

It was the first day of the week (Sunday) that our Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, but it was also the eight day. The Jewish Sabbath was on Saturday which was the seventh day but Jesus rose on the next day which was the eight day (Sunday). Therefore, everything comes alive again on the eight day – and it’s 2008.

The following are biblical revelations of the number eight:

· Jesus’ transfiguration was on the eighth day:

Jesus took Peter, James and John upon a high mountain and unveiled His deity before them (Matthew 17:1). He manifested His glory on the eight day, therefore, in 2008 the church is about to go into a higher place with God to behold His Majesty and power as never before.

· Circumcision was to be on the eighth day:

Jesus was circumcised on the eight day (Luke 2:21). Circumcision represents covenant rights and privileges, therefore, believers in Christ are about to experience the circumcision of the heart and enter divine favor with God this year.

· Eight souls were saved in the flood

God saved eight souls after the judgment of Noah’s flood, this was for the purpose of multiplying and replenishing the earth with human kind again (1 Peter 3:20). In 2008 God is going to multiply His church and cover the earth with His glory.

· Jesus arose from the dead on the eighth day

Because eight is the number of ‘new beginnings’ and the number of ‘resurrection’, 2008 will be a fresh start for all who trust in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, and everything that was dead (dead marriages, dead dreams, dead relationships, dead situations etc. ) – is coming alive again. Because Jesus lives – there is hope.

Let me share what I believe God will make great in 2008 – are you ready?

Our Seed shall be Great in 2008

Job 5:25 - Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

Our ministry shall be Great in 2008 

John 14:12 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Opportunity shall be Great in 2008 

KJV -1 Corinthians 16:9 – “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.”

God’s Word (Version) - “I have a great opportunity to do effective work here, although there are many people who oppose me.”

Our Faith shall be Great in 2008

Matthew 8:10,11 - When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

Here it is again – “It’s going to be great in 2008 – but only BY FAITH

If it’s going to be great in 2008 – it has to be “By Faith.”

Jesus said these four profound words in Mark 11:22 – “Have faith in God.” It actually means – “Have God’s kind of faith”

Here is what FAITH does:

· Faith will CALL what is yours

A great example of calling what is yours is found in Joshua 14:12, 13

- Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. Caleb was 85 years old when he called his inheritance, and it was a mountain. This year you must call BIG things into your destiny.

· Faith will COMMAND what is God’s

Exodus 10:3, 4 - And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me. Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast: We must represent the Lord wherever we are and speak for God. We are ambassadors for Christ.

· Faith will CREATE what is necessary

Jesus said in Matthew 10:8 - Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. God’s mandate to the church is to call things that are not as if they were.
